Construction crews digging Thursday near Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive hit phone lines that left dozens of people without telephone service.
More than 80 people had reported a lack of phone service Thursday evening, a Southwestern Bell representative said. Those people and anyone else affected could be without phone service until 10 p.m. today at the latest, the representative reported.
The lines were hit as crews installed a water line as part of a recreation path project. The phone lines were not found by a locating service hired to find such wiring, said Mike Martin, project manager for the contracting company, Razorback Contractors of Kansas Inc.
