Maxine Laming

— Memorial services for Maxine "Deannie" Laming, 76, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Church of the Resurrection United Methodist Church, Leawood. Cremation is planned.

Mrs. Laming died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at her son's home in Leawood.

She was born March 26, 1925, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of Oscar and Lila (Ousdahl) Botts.

Mrs. Laming had worked as an operator for Suburban Telephone Co., Tonganoxie, and was a homemaker. She had been a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, Plymouth Guild, Chapter AT, P.E.O., and the Reading Club, all of Tonganoxie. She had served as a school board member for the Tonganoxie school district.

She married Thomas C. Laming on June 15, 1946, in Tonganoxie. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Thomas W. Laming, Leawood; a daughter, Linda Laming, Overland Park; a brother, Jean Botts, Independence, Mo.; three sisters, Dorothy Dwyer, Lawrence, Betty George, Independence, Mo., and Marie Hubbard, Hutchinson; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Quisenberry Funeral Home Chapel, Tonganoxie, where a service of remembrance will be at 7 p.m.
