Mrs. Trueblood died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Norton County Hospital.
She was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Colby, the daughter of J.R. and Genevieve (Wheaton) Messamore. She moved to Norton in 1974 from rural Hoxie. She earned a bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State University in 1986.
Mrs. Trueblood had worked for J.C. Penney in Denver and Norton. She and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Norton, and Kansas Rural Letter Carriers Assn.
She married Edwin Trueblood on Oct. 6, 1946, in Colby. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Michael Trueblood, Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Linda Hubbard, Topeka, and Marsha Pomes, Lawrence; three brothers, Kenneth Messamore and Jerry Messamore, both of Colby, and Bill Messamore, Dickinson, Tex.; a sister, Mildred J. Hardy, Hay Springs, Neb.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
