Journal-World wins press sweepstakes

The Lawrence Journal-World won the sweepstakes award for daily newspapers with a circulation of more than 10,000 Saturday in the Kansas Press Association's Awards of Excellence contest.

The award was one of 31 the newspaper received at the 109th annual KPA Convention and Trade Show at the Lawrence Holidome.

The sweepstakes award goes to the newspaper that accumulates the most points by winning awards in other contest categories. All contest entries were published in 2000.
