Wilma Severns

— Services for Wilma Jane Severns, 45, Topeka, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Severns died Friday, April 13, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born Aug. 17, 1955, in Lawrence, the daughter of Arnold Jay and Katherine Marie Donner VanMeter. She graduated from South Mountain High School, Phoenix, Ariz., and had lived in Topeka for five years after moving from Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Severns was a homemaker and had worked as an assembly person and security guard in Phoenix and for Southwest Caging, Topeka. She was a member of the Baptist Church, Norbern, Mo. She married Ernest L. Severns on Feb. 16, 1982, in Phoenix. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her mother and stepfather, Katherine VanMeter Kelly and Earl Kelly, Lawrence; a son, Arnold Lee Brant, Topeka; two daughters, Christina Marie Morris, Topeka, and Sabrina Johnson, Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Jay VanMeter, Ozawkie; a sister, Ruth Ann Compton, Springfield, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will greet them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
