Funeral services for Luella Saathoff, 87, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at Clinton Cemetery in Clinton.
Mrs. Saathoff died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her son's home in rural Lawrence.
She was born Aug. 31, 1913, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Iwig) Herschell.
She lived in and around Topeka and Lawrence most of her life. From 1957 to 1971, she lived in California.
She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Retired Eagles Club No. 309 and Rebekah Lodge No. 4, all of Lawrence.
She married Bennie L. Saathoff July 16, 1955, in Lawrence. He died Dec. 7, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Elvin Petrie, Lawrence; two daughters, Janice Marie Quintana, LaJara, Colo., and Shirley Elaine Pampus, Lamar, Colo.,; two stepsons, Bennie L. Saathoff and Robert Eugene Saathoff, both of Lawrence; two brothers, Kenneth Herschell, Lawrence, and Charles Herschell, Overbrook; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-granchildren; and her caregivers, Laura Petrie, Rose Saathoff and Judy Saathoff.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
