"Every single one of them scored, and to win the meet is a tremendous compliment to their competitiveness," FSHS coach Steve Heffernan said. "Several of the girls competed in three or four events and gave 100 percent in every one of them."
FSHS winners were Caitlyn Wisler in the javelin (103-6), Laura Farley in 1600 (6:19.3), Kelly Perme in 100 hurdles (17.1), 4x800 relay (11:52.1), distance medley relay (15:11.8) and 1600 medley relay (5:25.3).
In the boys meet, Free State was second with 132 points. Firebird winners were David Herrera in the javelin (161-2), Kyle Padden in pole vault (9-6), Chris White in 3200 (11:13.4), 4x800 relay (9:15.1), distance medley relay (12:41.14), 1600 medley relay (4:01.1) and 4x400 relay (3:41.5).
