Columbia, KC campuses show student increases
The University of Missouri reported enrollment increases at both the Columbia and Kansas City campuses for the fall semester, while Rolla showed a slight decline.
Missouri-St. Louis said it would report its final enrollment figures Monday.
At Columbia, the largest in the four-campus university system, total enrollment was 23,280, up from last fall's 22,898. The number of first-time freshmen rose 7.4 percent to 4,226, and the retention rate of last year's freshmen returning for their sophomore year was 82.6 percent.
The Kansas City campus reported total enrollment of 12,698, an increase of 10.2 percent from last fall's 11,518.
At Rolla, the enrollment was 4,393, down from 4,517 in 1999.
