To the editor:
It's all well and good for the bicyclists to "take back the streets." Maybe they would also like to take back the taxes that the automobile users pay to build and maintain those streets.
I am not against bicycling, and I applaud the idea that bicycling promotes good health, and lowers pollution and congestion in the streets. I do have a problem with the idea of protest without responsibilty, such as was demonstrated on Thursday. If the bicyclists want to enact change, then why don't they try coming up with a complete solution to their perceived problems, instead of merely attracting attention by causing a disruption to innocent bystanders and communters who have paid for the right to use the roads.
