A man suspected in a 1999 armed robbery is one of the Crime Stoppers featured fugitives for September.
Police are looking for Shamar D. Nelson, 20, in connection with the August 1999 break-in at a house in the 900 block of Indiana Street.
Lawrence Police Officer Dave Anderson, who runs Crime Stoppers, said police believe Nelson and two others broke into the house, then tried to rob a woman there at gunpoint. The woman had nothing to give, and the men left.
Nelson is 6 feet tall, 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Investigators are also seeking Peter J. Rutherford, 33. Anderson said Rutherford is suspected of possessing cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in April 1998. He also is wanted in Johnson County, Anderson said, for a felony allegation that he didn't make child-support payments.
Rutherford is 6 feet 2 inches, 190 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
