— Services for Joseph Eugene "Geno" Ramirez, 41, Horton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton.

Mr. Ramirez died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Heartland East Hospital, St. Joseph, Mo.

He was born June 22, 1959, in Hiawatha, the son of John R. and Darlene Kackler Ramirez.

He graduated from Horton High School in 1977.

Mr. Ramirez had worked at Pat's Thriftway in Horton. During the last several years he worked in the Kansas City area as a machinist.

He was a lifelong member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Horton. He also was a member of Atomic Energy No. 314 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers of Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include three sons, Brian, Bamberg, Germany; Joel and Eric, both of Warsaw, Mo.; a daughter, Katie Ramirez, Lawrence; his parents, Horton; a brother, John, Dundedin, Fla.; and a sister, Julie Bacon, St. Joseph, Mo.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Horton. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Leo's Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends after the rosary until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorials to the Joseph "Geno" Ramirez Memorial Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 1720 First Ave. East, Horton 66439.
