Ottawa Funeral Mass for Josephine (Mora) Garcia, 56, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa.
Mrs. Garcia died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.
She was born June 15, 1944, in Ottawa, the daughter of Jose and Leonarda (Baldomino) Mora.
Mrs. Garcia worked as a seamstress for H.D. Lee, Ottawa, for 25 years; Parmalee Manufacturing, Ottawa, from 1988 to 1993; at Davol Inc., from 1993 to 1998; and as a machinist until 1998.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa, and an honorary member of Sacred Heart Altar Society. She had also helped with the Our Lady of Guadalupe Festival at the church and was a member of the Mexican Ladies Group. She was also a member of the Aerie Lodge No. 2700, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, Ottawa.
She married Juan "J.J." Garcia on March 8, 1969, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Angie Mora Marion, Ottawa; three brothers, Ramora, Warrensburg, Mo., Francisco Mora, Kansas City, Mo., and Guadalupe Mora, Ottawa; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Dengel & Son Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends at 7 p.m.
