Ottawa — Graveside services for Velmore Arland Hendrickson, 76, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Evergreen Mound Cemetery, northwest of Ottawa.
Mr. Hendrickson died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at his home.
He was born April 13, 1924, in Garnett, the son of Alonzo Arland and Mabel Lorraine (Martin) Hendrickson. He attended schools in Ottawa.
Mr. Hendrickson served in the Armed Forces during World War II, and was awarded the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Ribbon and three Bronze Service Stars.
He worked in the construction industry before starting work for Iowa Beef Processing in 1973. He retired in 1987.
He married Lorraine Burns on Jan. 11, 1947, in Ottawa. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Velmore, Odessa, Mo.; three daughters, Lora Hendrickson, Burlingame; and Caroline Watts and Colleen Lindeman, both of Ottawa; a sister, Betty Prentice, Ottawa; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A son, Gary, died earlier.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Ottawa.
