False alarms prompt call for assistance

Someone at McCollum Residence Hall has been crying "wolf" for fire assistance, and Kansas University Public Safety officials are calling for it to stop.

Three false fire alarms have occurred since Friday, when a pull station was activated at 2:42 a.m. on the third floor east wing. The second incident occurred between 3:50 a.m. and 3:54 a.m. the next day on the fifth floor west wing. The most recent activation occurred at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday on the fifth floor south wing.

Anyone who has any knowledge of the false fire alarms is urged to call the KU Public Safety Office at 864-5900 or KU Crime Stoppers at 864-8888.
