Police arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of sneaking into a woman's darkened bedroom when she was expecting her boyfriend and having a sexual encounter with her.
The man is charged in Douglas County District Court with felony counts of aggravated sexual battery and aggravated burglary. He was released from Douglas County Jail Tuesday on $3,000 bond and will appear in court at 3 p.m. Nov. 9.
The incident happened Sept. 3. The woman told officers she and her boyfriend returned from a party to her home. She went to bed and woke about 6:15 a.m. with a man she assumed was her boyfriend beside her. The man fondled her and she reciprocated.
When daylight broke, police said, she realized the man was not her boyfriend, but an acquaintance from the party. He left and she called police.
