Louis Simpson

— Graveside services for Louis J. Simpson, 91, Maple Hill, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka, with military honors by American Legion Capitol Post No. 1.

Mr. Simpson died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence.

He was born Nov. 12, 1908, in Cabool, Mo., the son of Louis J. and Hallie (Fuller) Simpson.

Mr. Simpson was a member of American Legion Capitol Post No. 1, and had worked for the Rock Island Railroad, Topeka, and the S.E. Public Service railway ice company.

He married Gladys Irene Lemon on Jan. 15, 1931, in Westmoreland. She died Oct. 6, 1984. He later married Alice Best. She survives of Topeka.

Other survivors include a son, Robert L., Maple Hill; a brother, Weldon, Topeka; a sister, Florence Sage, Topeka; a stepdaughter, Joan Hutley, Topeka; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
