There will be something missing when Colorado takes the field against Texas A&M today the team's logo on the players' helmets. Coach Gary Barnett told his players they'd have to earn back the logo.
"I don't like it a whole lot," defensive end Brady McDonnell said. "I think it's degrading for us. We need to work hard and get that back. We're the Colorado Buffaloes of today, and we've got to prove it. It hurts. I'm not going to lie. Taking the decal off and saying we're not Buffaloes hurts."
CU (0-4 overall, 0-1 Big 12) was ranked 24th in the preseason, but CU has lost all four its games this season, including 44-21 to Kansas State. Now the Buffaloes go to Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0), which has a 58-4-1 record at Kyle Field since 1990.
Barnett this week said his team is in disarray and looking for answers. He benched linebacker Jashon Sykes, saying Sykes needed to learn that playing is a privilege, and placed defensive tackle Sam Taulealea, offensive tackle Jordan Gehring and tight end Jake Jones on "strength and conditioning leave."
