Services for Agnes Annie Shockley, 92, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shockley died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 19, 1908, in Seneca, the daughter of Frank and Agnes McAlpine Nowak.
She attended Lawrence Business College. She began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse, and was a teacher and principal in many area schools for 36 years.
She graduated from Kansas University in 1963 with a degree in education. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.
She married Everett Martin Shockley on June 13, 1933. He died Sept. 10, 1958.
Survivors include one son, Johnson Shockley, Lawrence; three daughters, Lou Holyfield, Houston, Jackie Powers, Eudora, and Shirley Bennett, Lawrence; five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will greet them from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or Douglas County Senior Services Senior Meals, sent in care of the funeral home.
