Evelyn Durham

— Services for Evelyn Durham, 85, Oakley, will be at 10 a.m. today at United Methodist Church, Oakley. Burial will be in Oakley Cemetery, Oakley.

Mrs. Durham died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Logan County Hospital, Oakley.

She was born Jan. 30, 1915, in Kennisaw, Neb., the daughter of Charles Benjamen and Mabel Elizabeth (Meade) Bradshaw. She lived in Oakley for 57 years after moving from Denver.

Mrs. Durham had been a bookkeeper, a school bus driver for Oakley schools and a grocery store clerk at Trader's Supermarket, Oakley. She was a member of United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both of Oakley; past president of WSCS, Oakley; and a member of various Bible study courses and a disciple study course.

She married Orval E. Durham on Nov. 4, 1933, in Gehring, Neb. He died Jan. 25, 1971.

Survivors include a son, Gene Durham, Lawrence; a daughter, Sandra Eve Jamison, Wichita; two sisters, Dessa Marlett, Huntley, Wyo., and Violet Rae Sowers, Oakley; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Betty Swart, died earlier.
