Albert Schwarz

— Services for Albert Christian Schwarz, 96, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, near Worden. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, near Worden.

Mr. Schwarz died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 26, 1904, near Worden, the son of William Frederick and Louisa (Young) Schwarz. He attended Globe School, and moved to Baldwin in 1968.

Mr. Schwarz was a farmer and stockman on his family farm until he retired in 1968. After moving to Baldwin, he was a carpenter and water line installer.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and served as a board member during construction of the current church building.

He married Neva E. Freeland on Jan. 14, 1928, in Parkville, Mo. She died in August 1977.

Survivors include a daughter, Marian Hesser, Commerce City, Colo.; three sons, Kenneth, Lawrence; Dale, Baldwin; and, Robert, Adams, Wis.; two sisters, Erna Holmes, Manhattan, and Dorothea Flory, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Baldwin, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
