U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore has no intention of pulling a radio advertisement his opponent claims is misleading, his headquarters said Saturday.
Kim Hall, Moore's campaign manager, defended the ad.
"We have verification," she said. "I didn't put words in their mouths."
Phill Kline claims the ad tries to portray Kansas Lt. Gov. Gary Sherrer and Gov. Bill Graves' wife, Linda, as opposing him.
After the ad started running late last week both the governor and lieutenant governor denounced it, according to Kline's campaign headquarters. Quotes were taken out of context, they said. Both reiterated their support for Kline.
"Dennis Moore should take his ad down immediately," Gov. Graves said.
Graves and Scherrer supported Kline's primary election opponent, Greg Musil. After Musil lost they endorsed Kline.
