Donna and Bob Brown

Donna and Bob Brown, Perry, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Perry Community Building.

Donna and Bob Brown were married on July 10, 1960, in Perry.

Mr. Brown retired in 1993 from Dupont and Flexel after 33 years of service.

Mrs. Brown retired in 1990 from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of services.

The couple request no gifts.

Margie and Glen Wiseman

Margie and Glen Wiseman, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the Lawrence Visitor Center.

Their friends and family are invited to the reception which will be hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Margie and Glen Wiseman were married July 29, 1950, in Lawrence.

Margie and Glen have belonged to the Coachmen and Good Sam Camping Clubs and spend the winter months in south Texas.

Margie and Glen retired in 1977 after operating Glens Garage and Salvage Yard for more than 20 years.

The couple have three children: Katherine Baynes, Carthage, Mo.; Glenda Easum and Tom Wiseman, both of Lawrence.

They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The couple request no gifts.

Junior and Lois Hammig

Junior and Lois Hammig, Glendale, Ariz., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren at a reception dinner Friday, July 21. Their children, Steve Hammig and Barbara Clifton, hosted the dinner.

Junior Hammig and Lois Green were married July 21, 1950, in Lawrence, where they lived until moving to Arizona in 1998.

The family is requesting a surprise card shower for the couple. Please mail the cards to 20449 N. 95th Drive, Peoria, Ariz. 85382, sent in care of Junior and Lois.

Eldon and Glenna Herd

Eldon and Glenna Herd celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows and a family dinner.

Glenna Joyce Davis and Eldon Herd were married July 10, 1955, in the Methodist Church in Sublette.

Glenna is a graduate of Southwestern College. Eldon is a graduate of Kansas University and a member of Phi Delta Theta. They met when Glenna was teaching vocal music in Coldwater, Eldon's home town.

Eldon became a computer programmer for Boeing in Wichita. The couple lived in Denver, Brigham City, Utah, and northern California while following Eldon's career. They raised their five sons in Saratoga, Calif. Eldon consulted in the Washington, D.C. area and Tucson, Ariz., before being associated with the Judicial Administration Department in Topeka. The couple moved to Lawrence in 1991.

The couple's sons and spouses are Kevin and Debbie, Coralitas, Calif.; Marston, Los Angeles; Drew and Allison, San Jose, Calif.; James, Onalaska, Wis., and Sean and Christine, Poplar Grove, Ill.

Joyce Edmonds and Stan Mullenix

Joyce Edmonds and Stan Mullenix will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The couple also plan to travel to Alaska.

Joyce Edmonds and Stan Mullenix were married July 21, 1950, in St. Louis.

Stan is a graduate of Kansas University. He served in the military during World War II. He retired in 1987 after teaching for 24 years at West Junior High School and four years at Eureka High School.

Joyce worked at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 11 years. She was employed 22 years as a school nurse for USD 497, retiring in 1989.

The couple have four children, Chris Johnson, Lawrence; Cindy Gilmore, Phoenix; Sue Kanoho, Fairfield, Calif., and Julie Bloom, Lawrence. They have 12 grandchildren.

Paul and Phyllis Gibler

Paul and Phyllis Gibler, rural Baldwin, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at The Lodge on U.S. Highway 56 in Baldwin.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the reception, which will be hosted by their children and families.

Paul Gibler and Phyllis Nichols were married March 12, 1950, in Lawrence. The couple has lived at 569 E. 1550 Road in Baldwin for 40 years. Phyllis is a homemaker, and Paul retired from All-Star Dairy in 1988. The couple raise registered shorthorn cattle on their farm northwest of Baldwin.

They have four children, Pauletta Baxter, Little Rock, Ark.; Rhonda Hitchcock, Baldwin; Kent Gibler, Topeka; Kevin Gibler, Kansas City, Mo., and six grandchildren.
