Graveside services for Ruth M. LaDuke, 96, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Deay Cemetery in Eudora.
Mrs. LaDuke died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Brandon Woods Retirement Center, Lawrence.
She was born Nov. 30, 1903, in Bethel, Mo., the daughter of Martin and Christina (Margold) Grossman. She moved to the Stull community in Kansas when she was 6 years old.
Her family later moved to Vinland, and she graduated from Vinland High School in 1920. She then moved to Lawrence and worked for Barteldes Seed Company and, later, Independent Laundry.
She worked at Kansas University's Corbin Hall for 15 years before retiring in 1973.
She married Alfred M. "Bud" LaDuke on Aug. 31, 1929. They later divorced.
Survivors include three daughters, Maxine Smith, Baltimore; Darlene Hill, Lawrence; and, Shirley Coffman, Phoenix; a half-brother, Thomas Grossman, Kaysville, Utah; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Ray M. LaDuke, died in 1993.
Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
