Petro Granat

— There will be no public services for Petro Granat, 77, Mission. He will be buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, Mo.

Mr. Granat died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Poland.

During World War II, he was a prisoner of the Russians and later the Germans. After the war, he was placed in a displaced persons camp in Germany for five years.

A church group brought Mr. Granat and his first wife, Maria, to the United States. He became a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers and was employed at Kansas University.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta, of the home; a stepson, Tom Reed; a stepdaughter, Robin Reed; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A son, Michael Granat, a daughter, Irinia Granat Grau, and a grandson died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to the Asbury Methodist Church, 5400 W. 75th St., Prairie Village 66208.
