Oskaloosa Services for Flossie Agnes Brey, 85, rural Valley Falls, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
Mrs. Brey died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Aug. 9, 1914, in Hoyt, the daughter of Clarence and Goldie (Duffield) Bolz. She graduated from Hoyt High School in 1933, and moved to rural Valley Falls in 1951 from Oskaloosa.
Mrs. Brey had been a cook at the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Winchester, and at the former Cherokee Lodge, Oskaloosa, before retiring in 1987. She was an active volunteer for the Hickory Pointe Care Center, Oskaloosa, since 1987 and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Unit No. 4015, Oskaloosa.
She married Frederick Brey on June 2, 1935, in Lawrence. He died July 3, 1965.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Lee Brey, Valley Falls; two daughters, Phyllis June Richardson, Norman, Okla., and Frances Ann Shufflebarger, Oskaloosa; a brother, Junior Clarence Bolz, Hoyt; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Donald E. Brey, died Nov. 30, 1990.
Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
