Olathe East forced 28 turnovers en route to an 88-47 girls basketball victory over Lawrence High on Tuesday night at the LHS gym.
O-East breezed to a 52-19 halftime lead.
"I told 'em I'd never seen a team score that many in a half and I hoped it wouldn't happen the second half," Lions' coach David Platt said. "They are a good team, but some of it had to do we us not taking care of the ball. It was a combination of good pressure and poor decision making."
Kari Saving scored 29 points for Olathe East.
"They get the ball to her a lot," Platt said of Saving, a first-team all Sunflower League pick a year ago.
Emily Schwartz scored 16 points and Mandy Amyx 10 for the Lions, 5-11. O-East is 11-5.
"Emily keeps improving every game," Platt said. "She had the assignment to guard Saving. It was nice to watch her accept that challenge and work awfully hard."
