These photographs were taken by students in Gary Smith's Foto Loco 2000 class at the Pelathe Community Resource Center, 1423 Haskell Ave. The students were assigned to take photos in and of their community. Here are some of the images that they saw and captured.
Smith is an award-winning Lawrence photographer who has published two books, "Searching for Washington Square: A Celebration of Life on the Global Street" and "Molten Memoirs: An Artist's Account of the Volcano Holdouts of Salem, Montserrat."
