Performing arts center architect selected

— Plans to bring a performing arts center to downtown Kansas City moved ahead with the selection of an architect who has designed public buildings from Jerusalem to Wichita, Kan.

The Metropolitan Kansas City Performing Arts Center board announced Monday it had selected Moshe Safdie and Associates to transform a Kansas City hilltop into a $300 million civic landmark.
