Mary Rogers Kimbley

Spring Hill Services for Mary R. Rogers Kimbley, 74, Lenexa, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Spring Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Kimbley died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at Olathe Medical Center.

She was born on July 25, 1926, in Tahlequah, Okla., the daughter of Jack and Hester (Jolliff) Scott.

She graduated from Tahlequah (Okla.) High School and later from beauty school. She was a hairdresser and owned and operated Karyl's Beauty Shop in Spring Hill from 1958 to 1972. Mrs. Kimbley later owned and operated a Spring Hill restaurant. She moved to Lenexa in May 1999.

She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a 45-year member of Eastern Star of Spring Hill.

Mrs. Kimbley married Jackson D. Rogers. They divorced. She married Robert L. Kimbley June 3, 1994, in Miami, Okla. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Sheryl Hooper, Gardner; Carol Aust, Lawrence; and, Mona Dickinson, Raymore, Mo; a stepson, Robert E. Kimbley, Olathe; three stepdaughters, Glennis J. Folsom, Topeka; Dina L. Secrest, Spring Hill; and, Connie K. Layson, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Georgia Branstetter, Poteau, Okla., and Ruby McClendon, Detroit, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

An infant son, Bill, died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to American Heart Assn. or American Cancer Society, sent in care of Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, P.O. Box 192, Gardner 66030.
