William S. and Dorothy J. Fannin, rural Leavenworth County, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today in Building I at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, Lawrence.
William Fannin and Dorothy Mooney were married Dec. 7, 1950, in Topeka. They have lived in rural Leavenworth County for 50 years.
William was self-employed and the couple owned and operated a sawmill for several years.
They have two children: Steve Fannin, rural Tonganoxie, and Donna Fannin, rural Lawrence. They have two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Barbara and William Hunsinger, Lawrence, will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with a private family gathering today.
They were married Dec. 9, 1945, in Manhattan.
The Hunsingers have four children: David Hunsinger, California City, Calif.; Dennis Hunsinger, Carbondale; Wayne Hunsinger, Kansas City, Kan., and Richard Hunsinger, Lawrence.
They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

N. Jean and Arthur W. (Bill) Keefer, Oskaloosa, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the American Legion, Lawrence.
N. Jean Miskimen and Arthur W. Keefer were married Dec. 16, 1950, in Lawrence. They met in 1950 when they were introduced to each other by a co-worker at Weaver's Department Store where Jean was working as an elevator operator and Bill was in the floor covering department.
Bill Keefer graduated from University High School, Lawrence, in 1946. He attended Kansas University before being called into the Air Force Reserves. Mr. Keefer has been self-employed for the majority of his working career as a floor covering specialist. He also is active in the Abdallah Shrine where he was Potentate in 1993.
Jean Keefer graduated from Vinland High School in 1946. Mrs. Keefer was a housewife and mother for many years. She retired in 1996 from the Douglas County Sheriff's department after 10 years of service.
Mr. and Mrs. Keefer have four children: Bonnie Smith, Perry; Terry Keefer, Lawrence; Carol Keefer, Oskaloosa; and Gary Keefer, Plymouth, Minn. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Emma and Ernie Pogge, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception for family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Free Methodist Church, 3001 Lawrence Ave., Lawrence. Serving as hosts for the celebration will be the couple's children and grandchildren.
Ernest C. Pogge, Renwick, Iowa, and Emma E. Ball, Westmoreland City, Pa., were married Dec. 20, 1950, at the Primitive Methodist Church at the bride's home in Westmoreland City, Pa.
Both Ernie and Emma were in the military service during World War II. They met in Wiesbaden Germany. Ernie received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle. He earned a doctorate in mechanics and hydraulic engineering at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.
The Pogges moved to Lawrence in 1966. Ernie taught civil engineering at Kansas University for 32 years.
Both Emma and Ernie have been active in church and community activities. They have one son, one daughter and three grandchildren.
