Pack the House set for tonight

Lawrence High's seventh annual "Pack the House" is set for 6:30 tonight in the LHS main gym. The Lions winter sports teams will be introduced between skits, band performances and intrasquad basketball scrimmages.

Here's the schedule of events:

6:35 introduction of sophomore girls basketball team.

6:38 introduction of swimming and wrestling teams.

6:50 introduction of varsity/junior varsity girls basketball team, followed by a 10-minute scrimmage.

7:15 second half of girls basketball scrimmage.

8:05 introduction of boys sophomore basketball team.

8:15 introduction of boys varsity basketball team, followed by 10-minute scrimmage.

8:35 p.m. second half of boys basketball scrimmage.

Baker women win

Kansas City, Mo. Angie Miller made 4 of 4 three-point shots and led Baker University's women's basketball team with 16 points Thursday night in a 75-62 victory over Avila College. Amber Zenger had 13 points, and Cory Shoaf added 11 for the Wildcats.

Baker men falter

Kansas City, Mo. Aaron Schwerman had 24 points and seven rebounds Thursday night, but it wasn't enough for Baker's men's basketball team in a 76-75 loss to Avila College.

Ottawa men triumph

Ottawa Tony Porter and Chris McNaughton scored 21 points each Thursday night to lead Ottawa University's men's basketball team to a 69-53 victory over Sterling College. Porter also had 10 rebounds. Ricky Bulmer added 13 points and nine rebounds.
