Bottom Line

The World Company is asking the Planning Commission to rezone parts of New Hampshire north of Seventh Street from industrial to commercial to facilitate the creation of a downtown campus for the company.

Background

The proposed project would include a pedestrian bridge to connect both sides of New Hampshire. On the west side of the street, the company hopes to create a converged newsroom for Lawrence Journal-World, 6News and Internet staffs. The project also would include a three-story parking garage.
