Class to focus on GERD

Lawrence Memorial Hospital will offer a class for frequent sufferers of gastroesophageal reflux disease, otherwise known as GERD or heartburn.

Dr. Dale Denning will provide information about the most recent treatments and answer questions about relieving the discomfort of GERD.

The free class will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 29 in the LMH auditorium. For more information or to enroll, call ConnectCare at 749-5800.

LMH workshop to cover breast-feeding

Lawrence Memorial Hospital will offer a "Breast-feeding Your Baby" workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 21. The class is taught by a certified lactation educator and will include information on proper positioning, maintaining milk supply and how to manage breast-feeding and work.

The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. Fathers and other partners are encouraged to attend. For more information or to enroll, call ConnectCare at 749-5800.

Class reviews new baby care

Lawrence Memorial Hospital will offer a baby-care workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 28 in meeting room A at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The workshop is for expectant or adoptive parents who want additional baby care information. Topics include bathing, cord care, diapering, sleeping, crying, nutrition, safety and adjustment to parenthood.

The workshop is taught by a registered nurse. Class size is limited. The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. For more information or to enroll, call ConnectCare at 749-5800.
