IN 1899
On Sept. 30, 1899, the Lawrence World observed: "There isn't such a thing as being reconciled to death. The busy world may demand our attention through the years more and more and yet there will be a feeling of unutterable loneliness over us, although the street be crowded. It is then we miss our loved ones, is then we yearn with a deathless desire for the presence of those we love and who loved us and knew not why."
