Nebraska skein?
Lincoln, Neb. -- Sixty-one and counting. That's the consecutive number of volleyball matches Nebraska has won over Kansas.
The Cornhuskers will be seeking their 62nd straight over the Jayhawks tonight. Game time is 7 p.m. at the NU Coliseum.
Kansas, 10-3, is coming off a 3-2 victory over Missouri in Columbia last Saturday. Nebraska, 9-3, defeated Texas Tech in Lubbock last weekend after a shocking home loss to Kansas State.
LHS soccer postponed
Lawrence High's boys soccer game Tuesday at Blue Valley was rained out and has been rescheduled for Oct. 16.
QB Club to meet
Lawrence Quarterback Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on the west concourse of Memorial Stadium to listen to Kansas head coach Terry Allen. For information, call the Williams Fund at 864-3946.
FSHS updates schedule
Free State High's girls tennis match Tuesday at the Overland Park Aquinas Invitational has been pushed back to Thursday. Also, today's girls golf triangular at Eagle Bend has been canceled.
Southwest freshmen
remain unbeaten
Southwest Junior High's freshman volleyball team improved to 26-0 Tuesday, sweeping three matches at home.
Southwest defeated Central 15-5, 16-14; Topeka West 15-2, 15-1; and Blue Valley North 15-9, 15-2.
All six starters -- Morgan McMichael, Leah DeBiasse, Katie Willoughby, Shari Lassiter, Jayme Lisher and Linsey Morningstar -- were cited for strong play.
Southwest concludes its season Saturday at Central.
