CHARLES M. TALBOTT
Ottawa -- Services for Charles M. Talbott, 66, Pomona, will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Dengel & Son Mortuary. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
Mr. Talbott died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Ottawa, the son of William A. and Elma O. "Leta" (Arnold) Talbott. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1951.
Mr. Talbott worked at Ottawa Steel from 1952 to 1962, Union Gas from 1962 to 1966, and the power plant, and later the maintenance division, for the City of Ottawa from 1966 until retiring in 1993.
He was a member of First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge No. 18, A.F. & A.M., both of Ottawa, all York Rite Bodies of Ottawa, Ottawa Chapter No. 7, Royal Arch Masons and Tancred Commandery No. 11 Knights Templar. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory of Lawrence, Saint Justin Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priests, High Priesthood of Kansas, Past Commanders Association of Kansas and the Royal Order of Scotland.
Mr. Talbott also was a member of the Retta Conclave No. 8, Order of True Kindred; White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 19, Order of the Silver Trowel and Union Chapter No. 15 and Order of the Eastern Star.
He married Arlene Berry on Oct. 16, 1955, in Richmond. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kristi Baker, Princeton, and Barbara Ledom, Ottawa; a brother, Ray Talbott, Ottawa; a sister, Irene Roberts, Ottawa; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.
A daughter, Charlene Talbott, died in 1956, and son, Keith Talbott, died in 1959.
Friends may call until the service time at the mortuary, where masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. today, after which the family will receive friends at 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Cryptic Masons Medical Research Foundation or Ottawa Masonic Temple, and they may be sent in care of the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
