Law enforcement report

Police reports

  • The principal of Deerfield School, 101 Lawrence Ave., reported someone scratched a swastika on pavement outside the school near some trash containers. The swastika was found Monday morning, but school officials told police it could have been put there sometime between 9:45 p.m. Friday and early Monday. Police found some empty beer bottles in the trash containers that could have belonged to the vandal or vandals. Damage was estimated at $30.
  • A Zimmer Broadcasting Inc. employee told police he was working a night shift at 2:22 a.m. Tuesday when someone broke a plate glass window at the offices of KLWN and KLZR, 3125 W. Sixth St. No one was injured and there was no evidence left behind. Police don't know what object was used to break the window. The damage was estimated at $125.

  • Structure fire, 11:51 p.m. Monday, 5000 Clinton Parkway; a fire in a furnace was extinguished before firefighters arrived. There was no damage to the house.
  • Structure fire, 11:06 p.m. Monday, 1912 N.H.; clothing in a laundry area caught fire, but the fire was doused when the flames burned through a washing machine hose.
