Burglaries and thefts reported
- An 18-year-old KU student reported the burglary and theft of a $200 car stereo, a $200 amplifier and other items totaling $1,280 from the 1400 block of Apple Lane on Sept. 15.
Police reports
- Kansas University police on Monday arrested a 43-year-old Lawrence man on warrants for sexual battery and criminal restraint. The arrest stemmed from an incident in which the man, a graduate teaching assistant at KU, allegedly sexually battered one of his students on Aug. 23 in his residence in Jayhawker Towers, KU police said. The man was being held in the Douglas County Jail on Monday night on $3,500 bond.
- Lawrence police on Monday morning arrested a 22-year-old Lawrence man on charges of aggravated robbery, theft and falsely reporting a crime. The arrest stemmed from an alleged robbery of a local convenience store about 2:30 a.m. Monday. The man was being held without bond Monday night.
- Gunshots were reported by a 42-year-old Lawrence woman in the 300 block of Minnesota at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
- A 44-year-old Lawrence man reported a battery at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 2500 block of Redbud Lane.
- An accidental fire was reported by a 23-year-old Lawrence man at 7 p.m. in the 1900 block of West 31st Street.
