Ottawa by Friends
Ottawa -- Former Kansas University quarterback Jay Alexander threw three touchdown passes as Ottawa U. pounded Friends, 30-18, in college football on Saturday.
Alexander tossed a 33-yard TD pass to Seth Kline, a 30-yarder to Brent Foland and a four-yarder to Jason DeGarmo as the Braves evened their record at 1-1.
Alexander also threw three TD passes in the Braves' season-opening 49-32 loss at Bethany the week before.
Kansas blanks
Creighton, 1-0
Hilla Rantala scored in the 21st minute to lead Kansas University to a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Creighton on Sunday at the Jayhawk Invitational at SuperTarget Field.
KU goalie Betsy Pollard grabbed four saves and posted her second shutout of the weekend.
Rantala, Lindsey Horner and Bridget Goyen represented KU on the all-tournament team.
The Jayhawks, 5-4, will play Friday at Baylor and Sunday at Texas Tech.

twice in softball
Kansas University beat Central Missouri State, 5-2, and Pittsburg State, 3-0, on Sunday in fall exhibition softball.
Lawrence High product Shannon Stanwix homered in the victory over CMSU.
Against Pittsburg State, KU's Kelly Campbell tossed a three-hitter. Christy McPhail, Amy Hulse and Shelley Musser had RBIs for the Jayhawks.
KU, 7-2, will play next weekend at the Missouri-Kansas City Fall Classic.
Sidorova, Wagenaar win
at Indiana tournament
Bloomington, Ind. -- Kansas University women's tennis players Julia Sidorova and Christi Wagenaar both won singles titles Sunday at the Indiana University Fall Invitatinal.
Sidorova and Wagenaar posted perfect 3-0 records. Sidorova won the Flight No. 5 singles and Wagennar won the Flight No. 7 singles.
Stroer defeats Libertino
Murfreesboro, Tenn. -- Kansas University freshman Pete Stroer knocked off tennis teammate Sebastian Libertino, 6-3, 7-5, on Sunday in the Middle Tennessee Fall Classic.
