Clarinetist Larry Maxey and marimbist Linda Maxey will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Swarthout Recital Hall in Murphy Hall.

They will be accompanied by pianists Alice Downs and Holly Beneventi.

Linda Maxey will be performing on a new 5 1/2-octave custom-built DeMorrow marimba that includes the bass marimba range. The instrument, one of the largest marimbas ever built, has a frame of cherry wood and a keyboard of Honduras rosewood.

The program will include "Sonatina," by Malcolm Arnold; "Fantasy Pieces, Op. 43," by Niels Gade; "Hexad," by Paul Steinberg; "Two Movements," by Leo Weiner; "Michi," by Keiko Abe; "Two Movements for Marimba," by Toshimitsu Tanaka; "Dream of the Cherry Blossoms," by Abe; "Ilijas," by Nobojsa Jovan Zivkovic; "Peregi Verbunk, Op. 40," by Weiner; and "Klezmer Music."
