First Quarter

8:24 -- Damon Gourdine 5 pass from Jack Hawley. Aztecs took game's opening possession and went 80 yards in 13 plays, converting three third downs along the way and scoring on fourth third down. Gourdine caught four passes in drive for 45 yards. Nate Tandberg kick. (San Diego State 7, Kansas 0).

1:09 -- Larry Ned 1 run. After holding Kansas to three-and-punt possession, SDSU set sail on 11-play, 80-yard drive. Aztecs converted six first downs and were successful on two third-down conversions. Big plays were 18-yard pass from Hawley to Gourdine, 20-yard run by Ned and pass interference penalty on KU's Andrew Davison. Tandberg kick. (San Diego State 14, Kansas 0).

Second Quarter

7:22 -- Sean Pierce 22 pass from Hawley. Aztecs actually had to punt away third possession, but on third series SDSU went 94 yards in seven plays. Big plays were 26-yard pass from Hawley to Jim Ange and 32-yard pass from Hawley to Ned. On TD, Hawley was flushed, scrambled, then threw bullet to Pierce, who tapped by Muhammad Abdul-Rahim at two. Tandberg kick. (San Diego State 21, Kansas 0).

2:25 -- Derrick Lewis 62 pass from Hawley. San Diego State took fifth possession on own 10 and went 90 yards in four plays. On touchdown, Hawley found streaking Lewis, who got two steps on Davison. Lewis took pass at 15 and scored untouched. Tandberg kick. (San Diego State 28, Kansas 0).

0:00 -- Tandberg 21 FG. SDSU took sixth possession on own 48 and went to KU four. On third-and-16 from own 42, Hawley completed 49-yard pass to Derrick Lewis as time ran out. But KU was hit with roughing-the-passer penalty when Dion Rayford plowed Hawley, and since half cannot end on defensive penalty, SDSU used bonus play to kick field goal. (San Diego State 31, Kansas 0).

Third Quarter

:03 -- Harrison Hill 43 pass from Dylen Smith. After two scoreless possessions apiece to open second half, Jayhawks took third possession after halftime at own 32 and went 68 yards in five plays. Hill also had 25-yard catch on third down to keep drive alive. On TD, Hill slipped behind secondary -- burning Aazaar Abdul-Rahim -- on fly and scored untouched. Joe Garcia kick. (San Diego State 31, Kansas 7).

Fourth Quarter

14:21 -- Ned 4 run. It took Aztecs just three plays to answer KU's first score. Here's the series: On first down, Hawley 12-yard rush; on second, Jonas Lewis 64-yard run; on third, Ned TD. That's 80 yards in three plays. Tandberg kick. (San Diego State 38, Kansas 7).

12:34 -- David Winbush 5 run. Kansas took possession on own 32 and went 68 yards in seven plays. Big gains were 21-yard pass from Smith to Michael Chandler, 17-yard pass from Smith to Hill and 19-yard pass from Smith to Winbush. After Winbush's catch, SDSU's George Heather was tacked up for personal foul and ejected, giving KU first-and-goal from five. Winbush swept left, hurdled one would-be tackler and two and bolted to end zone. Pass fail. (San Diego State 38, Kansas 13).

6:12 -- Tandberg 25 FG. SDSU took Kansas' onside kickoff at KU 49 and drove to KU eight-yard line in 11 plays. Killer for KU was face mask penalty on third-and-14 from SDSU 47 that gave Aztecs automatic first down after apparent 12-yard sack by Chaz Murphy. (San Diego State 41, Kansas 13).
