6:33 -- Jake Lawrence 80 run. Following the Hawks' punt on fourth and two inside Free State territory, the Firebirds took control on their 20-yard line after a touchback. Lawrence burst up the middle on the first play for the score. Vail run. (Free State 14, Olathe East 0).
Second Quarter
7:49 -- Casey Asbury 30 pass from Jared Ater. The Hawks racked up a 13-play, 61-yard drive that lasted 5:41. The key play was the touchdown, which came on a fourth-and-14 play. 4:14 -- Pat Holloway 20 fumble return. The Hawks concluded the scoring with a defensive score. On the second play after Free State's T.K. Peterson recovered a fumble on the Firebirds' 19-yard line, Holloway scooped up the ball in the backfield and galloped in for the score. Brad Hodenfield pass from Ater.
