A pair of Lawrence bank offices got new owners overnight.

The sale of all 20 of U.S. Bancorp's Kansas branches to Intrust Financial Corp. of Wichita became official at the close of business Friday.

Today, U.S. Bank customers automatically become customers of Intrust Bank and can bank at any Intrust location.

U.S. Bank customers have been receiving Intrust checks, ATM cards and personal identification numbers in the mail this week, said Diane Iseman, a spokeswoman.

U.S. Bank has two branches in Lawrence, at 901 Vt. and 544 Columbia. Together, they employ about 25 people.

Besides Lawrence, Intrust's new locations are in Andover, Augusta, Clay Center, Emporia, Eureka, Gardner, Holton, Iola, Manhattan, Overland Park and Topeka.

Intrust also purchased, but will close, four Wichita branches and branches in Prairie Village and El Dorado, offices that operate near other Intrust locations. And it immediately will sell a branch in Pratt to the First National Bank in Pratt.

The company's Lawrence branches have deposits totaling $27 million. Until last spring, they were First Bank offices. Before that, they were known as Metropolitan Federal Savings.
