IN 1899
On Sept. 24, 1899, the Lawrence World told how, "For several months Walt Edmundson and Headen have been experimenting with a flying machine. This morning they called on a World representative and explained their machine. They have almost completed their machine and are expected to try it about Monday night. The machine is an intricate one, so they say, but its method is so graduated that every part is a compliment to the other and the boys feel confident of its success -- It certainly has great possibilities."
