Overland Park — It's been a roller-coaster season for Lawrence High's volleyball team, according to Lions' coach Jo Huntsinger. And LHS may have endured one of its lower points Thursday night.
In a quadrangular at Blue Valley Northwest, the Lions defeated Overland Park Aquinas, 7-15, 15-4, 15-9, but fell to Shawnee Misison South, 16-14, 15-8, and to Blue Valley Northwest, 15-6, 15-6.
"We've been real up and down this entire year," Huntsinger said. "This was kind of a down day for us."
The Lions' Alexis Heere was cited for her play.
"She passed real well," Huntsinger said, "and her attitude was real good all night."
The Lions (7-7) will compete in a quadrangular at Free State next Thursday. Blue Valley and Shawnee Mission North will also attend.
