LESLIE EDISON GRANT
Eudora -- Mass of Christian burial for Leslie Edison "Chief" Grant, 81, Eudora, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.
Mr. Grant died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Rosalie, Neb., the son of James and Theresa (Armell) Grant. He moved to Eudora in 1966.
Mr. Grant served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and then worked as a quality assurance inspector for the Department of Defense. He had also worked for munitions plants in Parsons, DeSoto, and Marshal, Tex., and had worked for the Navy in Louisville, Ky.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Eudora, the Omaha Winnebago Indian Tribe of Nebraska and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He married Mary Moreno on Nov. 30, 1942, in St. Louis. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Patricia Orosco, Omaha; two sons, Larry, Osawatomie, and James, Eudora; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following a rosary service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association. They may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
