KU alumnus' film
to get KC screening
"The Velocity of Gary," a movie written by Kansas University alumnus James Still, will have a special screening at 7 p.m. Monday at Tivoli Manor Square Theatre in Kansas City, Mo.
The movie, starring Salma Hayek, Vincent D'Onofrio and Thomas Jane, is a contemporary love story that follows three friends -- a waitress and a new arrival in New York City who are in love with a porn film actor. The director is Dan Ireland.
Proceeds from the screening will benefit the new LeWan Alexander Spiritship Fund, which was established to bring multicultural guest artists to the KU campus to work with theater-film students.
