Lawrence-Douglas County planning commissioners will submit a group of proposed "transportation enhancement" projects for funding under what's known as the TEA-21 program.
Among the proposed projects under consideration for funding by planners are: landscaping and sidewalk improvement on the East 23rd Street gateway into Lawrence; removal of outdoor advertising signs on North Second and East 23rd streets; and bicycle lane construction on six streets: North Iowa, 15th Street, 19th Street, Connecticut Street, Naismith Drive, and Vermont Street.
