Burglaries and thefts reported
- A 27-year-old Lawrence man reported the burglary and theft of a computer valued at $2,500 from the 2100 block of Prairie Terrace between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Police reports
- A 13-year-old boy reported he was struck in the head by a skateboard that was thrown at him while he was walking home from school in the 1400 block of Massachusetts at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. He received five stitches.
- A 21-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested at 12:46 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East 19th Street for battery of a law enforcement officer. The woman became angry when Lawrence police officers ordered a loud, outdoor party to close down.
- A 23-year-old Lawrence man was arrested for firing a shotgun in his dormitory room in Osceola Hall on the Haskell Indian Nations University campus at 11 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence Police knew of no reason why the man fired the shotgun into the ceiling, causing an estimated $350 in damage.
