The Ludington-Thacher Home, 1613 Tenn., will be open for public viewing as Lawrence's first Designers' Showhouse from Sept. 24 through Oct. 17.

General public tours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays; and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

The home will also be available for group tours and private parties.

Ticket price for regular admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store, 3504 Clinton Pkwy., and the Douglas County Bank main branch, 300 W. Ninth.

There are opportunities for volunteer tour guides. Volunteers will receive free admission to the showhouse before or after their shifts.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Cottonwood Inc., which provides aid to people with developmental disabilities.
